About the Transparency Portal
The University of the Balearic Islands' Transparency Portal is a tool that enables our public institution to comply with its obligations in terms of active publicity, pursuant to Law 19/2013, of 9th December, on transparency, access to public information, and good governance.
In addition, that information which is most frequently requested shall be published on the Portal, and thus be made available to all citizens, in compliance with article 12 of the abovementioned law.
UIB Regulations
- Regulatory Agreement 13256/2019, of 8th November, which approves the transparency regulations at the University of the Balearic Islands
- Executive Agreement 13114/2019, of 28th May, whereby the Transparency Committee of the University of the Balearic Islands is created
Instructions on Transparency at the UIB

The Transparency Committee
The Transparency Committee aims at promoting and enhancing the transparency of the activities that are carried out at the UIB, ensuring compliance with publicity requirements, granting access to public information and establishing suitable good governance duties.
Functions of the Transparency Committee
- Advising on issues concerning transparency, access to public information and good governance.
- Setting general guidelines and actions.
- Implementing all relevant instructions aimed at the proper development of transparency, access to public information and good governance.
- Promoting training and awareness-raising activities for a better understanding of the matters regulated by Law 19/2013, of 9th December.
- Proposing to the President of the Committee the adoption of recommendations, directives or best practice guidelines on transparency, access to public information and good governance.

The Technical Committee for Transparency
The Technical Committee for Transparency is an advisory body intended to assist the UIB Transparency Committe in the performance of its duties.
Functions of the Technical Committe for Transparency
- Advising the Transparency Committee on the publication of information on the Transparency Portal.
- Proposing potential criteria and measures to the Transparency Committee aimed at complying with the transparency regulations in force.
- Supervising the contents of the different services for their publication on the Transparency Portal. Once these have been supervised, to submit them to the Transparency Committee for it to take a final decision.
- To carry out the required tasks and adopt the necessary measures to fulfill transparency objectives and obligations.
- To enhance the image of the Transparency Portal.
