Active Publicity

The UIB Transparency Portal is an institutional website listing all information required by national and regional regulations, and in the public interest. Information subject to active publicity is split into the following categories:

  • The institution. Information about the UIB’s mission, vision and values; strategic planning and results reports; and integrity policies
  • Governance and organisation. Information regarding the UIB’s organisational chart and governing bodies
  • Regulations. Information about general and UIB-specific regulations governing university operations, including how governing bodies are established and conduct their business; how assets are managed; and how the university performs the duties assigned to it in order to provide and ensure the public service of higher education
  • Finances and assets. Information about administrative management involving a financial or budgetary impact (contracts, agreements, budgets, accountability reports, etc.), as well as tangible and intangible asset management
  • People. Information on human resource management at the UIB (staff; list of job positions; salary grids; list of staff members undertaking extra external employment that has been authorised or recognised as compatible with their position at the UIB, etc.).

All the transparency portals at different public administrations contain information similar to the content set out in the five sections above. However, the UIB Transparency Portal includes two additional categories linked to the specific services supplied by the university, as an institution responsible for providing and ensuring the public service of higher education in the Balearic Islands through teaching, research and knowledge transfer.

  • Research. Information concerning research and knowledge transfer activities (research groups, the UIB’s position in different rankings, patents, etc.)
  • Students and teaching. Information about available programmes; teaching quality assessment reports; student support services; grants and bursaries, etc.
