The Ombudsperson is responsible for ensuring respect for the rights and freedoms of lecturers, students, and technical, management, administration and services staff in procedures involving different university bodies and services. The office may also undertake mediation, conciliation and dispute settlement. Its operations are governed by the principles of independence, autonomy and confidentiality.
The UIB integrity channel is a way to confidentially (albeit not anonymously) submit any proposals, suggestions for improvement, concerns or warnings regarding non-compliance with the UIB Code of Integrity, as well as report activities that contravene the guidelines and recommendations issued by the relevant UIB academic integrity bodies.
The University Coexistence Act sets out the terms for peaceful and respectful coexistence, as well as alternative methods to deal with conflicts that may interfere with or hinder the proper implementation of university activities and the disciplinary framework for students. Specific regulations govern the disciplinary framework for teaching, research, administration and services staff.
The UIB Fraud Prevention Plan was established within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR-Next Generation EU) and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR). In order to detect instances of fraud, the plan proposes establishing a channel to report inappropriate or fraudulent management of EU funds.
The fundamental right to data protection applies to all natural persons and ensures they retain control over how their personal data are used. This aims to prevent data processing activities from disclosing information that jeopardises individual privacy, and fundamental rights and freedoms.
